ReadingDoctor® Online vs other ReadingDoctor® Apps.

What’s the difference?

After years of development, we are very excited to be have released the new version of ReadingDoctor®, ReadingDoctor® Online!

ReadingDoctor® Online is now available for schools and for parents to use with kids at home! The new program may be used on PC, Mac and Chromebooks via the Google Chrome browser and on the iPad using the ReadingDoctor Online® iPad app.

Our existing apps will continue to be supported. You may be wondering what the differences are, so here is a summary to help.

 

ReadingDoctor® Online

  • Runs in your Google Chrome browser on PC/Mac/Chromebook

    and/or

  • on an iPad via the ReadingDoctor® Online app

  • requires an internet connection

  • includes an automated educational sequence covering approximately 3 years of phonics instruction

  • targets all of the main skills involved in reading acquisition

  • includes all of the content from the other ReadingDoctor® Apps (except Word Builder) + much more

  • includes an extensive library of teaching targets (6000+ words, sentences and images)

  • includes a student login for students to use the program independently as well as a dashboard for teachers and parents to be able to view student progress as well as make adjustments to student accounts

  • includes comprehensive data analysis for progress monitoring

  • school subscriptions include free access for students at home!

  • may be accessed from any computer (PC, Mac or Chromebook) or tablet device (including iPads and Android tablets)

  • purchased through a subscription

ReadingDoctor® Apps

  • run natively on iPad

  • require manual selection of activities

  • the content in each app is specific to the target skill (e.g. LetterSounds 1 includes all single letter graphemes, whereas ReadingDoctor® Online includes all of the main graphemes in English as well as other content)

  • no internet connection is required

  • do not collect any data about student progress

  • purchased through the App Store (for iPad)
